Congratulations to May’s Mini-Grant winners, Wilson Middle School student Reid Jackson and Principal Teresa Carney

Wilson Middle School Courtyard Chess Set

This proposal was written and submitted by a student and supported by the school principal. The grant will support the construction of a large-scale outdoor chess board, as well as the chess pieces, to be installed in the Wilson Middle School courtyard. The set will be used by students as an alternate outdoor activity during lunch, after school, and at other free times. Teachers and students in the ASAP program will also have access to outdoor chess.
