Johnson’s PAWMart is open for business!

This fall, Johnson Elementary School was awarded an NEF grant to start a school store, led by fourth grade Title One math students. We are happy to announce that PAWmart, which sells school supplies and gear, is now open for business!

PAWmart was a HUGE success this week! Students from every class were able to shop during their lunch block. The PAWmart team, accompanied by the entire fourth grade class, worked at the store this week greeting customers, taking orders, calculating change, and providing receipts. As Dr. Nolin posted on Twitter, “Mrs. Dannin was teaching and the students didn’t know it.”

Johnson principal, Jordan Hoffman, said, “There is an energy around Johnson that is so wonderful to see. We are so grateful to NEF for funding this grant and providing students with such a memorable opportunity to engaging in learning. We have seen an amazing difference in some of our students in their investment and commitment to learning and this wouldn’t be possible without the support of NEF.”

Great job, Jaguars! NEF is very proud of your hard work!
